This is one of my favorite cards…favorite “gaze” if you will! “THE CROSS"—I’m melted at just the writing of this phrase! His love for us causes my heart to stop in its tracks and set my mind on “the cross.” When creating this piece I was moved by this question, ”What were the movements of YOUR HEART on that day?”…on that day when You were hanging there…bleeding…dying…fully God…fully man…Creator! Fashioner! Sustainer and Former of everything…hanging on a tree... naked...unrecognizable. "Jesus, I ask…what were Your thoughts on that day? What were the movements of Your heart on that day?” I challenge you to ask Him the same question and be still and listen. It might surprise you what He will say. Whatever He says to you, hold it, savor it, drink it, and meditate on it. Let your heart expand in love for your Savior and King…Your bridegroom God. The All-Powerful chose love…and I am silent now…this is where I will stay...adoring Him!

'Jesus, Here I Am'

The front of the card reads, “Jesus, here I am Your favorite one. What are You thinking? What are You feeling?…” The inside reads, “I have to know”.

The Artist’s Note

How can we all be His favorite? Well, let me ask…will there ever be another you? Exactly like you, down to the shape of your pinky fingernail? No, never! You are the only You that will ever be…forever! Song of Solomon 4:12 says, “A garden enclosed is my sister, my promised bride—A rock garden locked, a spring sealed up.” Our hearts, our internal life in God is seen here as a garden…a garden that is locked and a fountain that is sealed. It is here that we meet God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and the Creator of your being. It is here that we cry, “Here I am, Your favorite one!” The cry from this place, “What are You thinking? What are You feeling? I have to know!” This cry comes from a place of knowing and believing who you are.

He formed and fashioned a masterpiece when He created YOU. When we can pray this and come before Him with this understanding and revelation, we move His heart…we are in agreement with Him…we stand in confidence that we are His favorite. Everyone who trusts in Him can say this about themselves, and the cry out of this revelation is not "I can do whatever I want,” or expect to be spoiled as though you get everything you want. But when one really grasps this revelation, the response in humility is “what are YOU thinking? What are YOU feeling?" And the desperate cry is, “I have to know.” The desperate cry of the one who is in love with Jesus is to stand in true identity as the one fully loved and cry out from that place… "I have to know YOUR HEART!!!”

The Artist’s Note

“His name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father.” Who needs a Wonderful Counselor? Who needs a Mighty God? What about the Prince of Peace?…last, but not least, an EVERLASTING FATHER? As I am writing this, I feel a cry from inside my soul coming out of me, “YES!!!!! I DO!!!!” No, this isn’t too good to be true! This is the truth…His name is JESUS!!!! In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I can feel my heart and my emotions taking a deep breath as I meditate on this verse. As this truth hits my soul…my mind, and emotions…a cry arises from within, “Can I just live here all the days of my life? May I stay here in this truth forever?” And the answer my friend is, “Yes, YES you can.”

He says to my heart, “Come and dine, come and eat, stay forever…dwell in my house forever…eat of my flesh and drink of my blood. You are mine and I am yours. Peace is what you need? I am. A Father is what you need? I am. God is what you need? I AM. I AM exactly what you need—I am the desire of the nations!" Okay, Jesus, I am ruined forever...forever to stay and abide here...to believe your words and live, truly live!

'Eternity'

The Artist’s Note

Psalm 42:1-2 is one of my all-time favorite verses: “As the deer pants (longingly) for the water brooks, so my soul pants (longingly) for You, O God. My soul (my life, my inner self) thirsts for God, for the living God. When will I come and see the face of God?" Then verse 7, “Deep calls to deep at the thundering sound of Your waterfalls; all Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me…”

DEEP CRIES OUT TO DEEP!!!! Don’t resist the cry within that’s crying out for God. Yield and submit…let Him love you...Let His desire for you overwhelm you and overtake you…Dive Deep into the ocean of His love. His love for you never runs dry; I can assure you this desire within your heart will never go away. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that eternity is written on your heart. There is no way around this. Every human being born has this written on their hearts and there is only one antidote…DIVE DEEP into the ocean of My love for you and let Me lavish on you a love that is nothing like you have ever tasted or ever will on earth.
